Thank
you for visiting our website!
We
met during Kristi's first semester and Gabe's junior year at Oberlin
College when we were placed in a quartet together. We developed
a friendship that lasted well beyond the one semester of the quartet,
and kept in touch even as Gabe went on to Columbia University
and Kristi to Rice University for Master's degrees. In the summer
of 2007 Gabe visited Kristi in Aspen, CO where she was performing
in the music festival, and we started dating not too long after!
We
enjoy do-it-yourself projects, such as making our own wedding
invitations (which has turned out to be a learning process!),
cooking, home renovations (starting very soon), gardening, knitting
(Kristi) and woodworking (Gabe). We love to travel, and try to
escape the City when possible to Gabe's hometown in Great Barrington,
MA, or Kristi's hometown in Overland Park, KS. Other favorite
places are Maine, Colorado, and any other destination with amazing
scenery and outdoor activities.
We
live on Manhattan's Upper West Side, close to Gabe's alma mater,
Columbia University. We enjoy being in touch with each others'
professional lives in a unique way: Kristi majored in environmental
studies and viola performance at Oberlin, and went on to become
a professional musician. Gabe studied violin and engineering at
Oberlin but went on to become a civil engineer. It was appropriate
that not only did Kristi have her instrument the night of our
engagement, but Gabe decided to take her to the middle of the
Brooklyn Bridge to propose!
